Comparisons With Other Products
You may be wondering “why use StickerDocs?”. This page tries to explain how StickerDocs differentiates from the other products on the market.
Evernote
The Good
- Feature rich
- Easy to use
- Amazing OCR
- Excellent search
The Bad
- Evernote is not end-to-end encrypted. This means their staff and the US government could access your private data.
- Data corruptions and issues with sharing notes with other users were the driving force behind the creation of StickerDocs.
- Expensive (£6.67 Month).
- Lots of nagging to upgrade to better plans.
Obsidian
The Good
- Feature rich
- The graph view is amazing
The Bad
- A bit hard for non-technical people to use.
- Obsidian sync can become expensive ($5 for 1GB, $10 for 10GB monthly, vs £5 for 500GB with StickerDocs)
- There is no out-of-the-box OCR, though there are plugins that can do this. It is worth noting that StickerDocs does not currently do OCR either, but it is high up on the roadmap as we always envisioned that would be a core feature.
- All files are downloaded, meaning if you have a lot of data it will try to download on your mobile. With StickerDocs we download the metadata on mobiles but not the files. This way you can search for what you want and it will download when you open the document.
DEVONthink
The Good
- Feature rich
The Bad
- Hard for non-technical people to use
- Only works in the Apple ecosystem
- The OCR process can lead to duplicate files
