Free For Offline Use

You do not need an account to use StickerDocs. However, most users will typically want to synchronise their data across devices which requires an account.

If you use the app offline you won’t be able to do the following:

• Synchronise your data across devices
• Share files with others
• Receive files from others
• Access the sticker shop

Free Account

We offer free accounts that have all the app’s functionality, but they have storage and sharing limits. A free account is a great way to take the app for a spin before committing to purchasing a monthly subscription. If a free account suits your needs you won’t see any nagging to upgrade unless you reach the storage/share quota. There is a limit to the number of free accounts we can offer at any time in order to keep our costs under control. If we cannot offer an account there is a first come, first served waiting list for free accounts.

It’s also worth noting that we delete inactive free accounts after a period of time. There are email reminders when this is due to occur, but if you find this annoying then consider purchasing a subscription.

Notes About Storage

• When you receive a shared file, the file is re-encrypted for you and uploaded to your account. This means that the file consumes both your and the sender’s file storage quotas.
• All data is compressed prior to upload to maximise storage.

Why a subscription?

Data storage and infrastructure are not cheap nor are they one-off expenses. The monthly subscription is used to pay for:

• Storage costs
• Hosting costs
• Staff and contractors to enable the continued development and running of the app and service
• Marketing and advertising
• Sustainability and operation of the business

Is there a self-host option?

StickerDocs is an ecosystem where users can share files with others, and that requires a central hub to work.

There is no privacy benefit from self-hosting when the data is end-to-end encrypted (E2EE). We provide and manage the storage and infrastructure, continue to develop in the product and keep everything running seamlessly for you.

We try to keep our price as low as possible because we’re decent but note that StickerDocs is a company, we need to make money to stay in operation.
